The Wolf Game: Whats Mine is Mine

What? I don’t get how you think those are connected… mind expanding on that? I also changed my tool use order to reflect that the relay is bolted to the roof, see above.

Very simply because Enginish knew about the codes without it being posted on this thread (as he mentioned them in his plan to fix the array, which is prior to your post explaining the codes), which indicates that he was in contact with you by other means. I’m just trying to understand what’s going on.

It may not actually be connected, just at first glance it does.

Enginish edited his reply after I posted the codes.

Ah. Well, in that case, disregard previous assessment.

Choose ONE tool for your third tool. You may not apply both codes in the same slot.

I’ll go with removing the Broken Communication Relay with the Plasma Cutter and replacing it with the Spare Relay. I want to wait and see the results of that before deciding to enter any codes though.

I don’t see how Tigerfang not saying anything about what he got in the events and trying not to be controversial makes him suspicious. Also, one bandwagon without any competition doesn’t give us any information, two might let us look at who voted which way and try to analyze people’s voting patterns. So I am going to vote Enginish.

Oh @Arkenbrien, when you try to bring up false evidence against me out of overlook, you just prove more and more that you are human, especially when going against this bandwagon when you and TigerFang both voted for Terran, which smart agents would avoid to do. It seems very likely that your actions are not coordinated.

It did worry me that there wasn’t anyone else disagreeing with us, which would be a sign we are choosing the wrong target. That worry was made void by @Aventine, who pops out of nowhere and gives the reason that lynching TF gives us no new info. Really…

Im not following so closely but i cant help but feeling we crew are getting royally screwed.

Only now seriously looked up the relay. Even though my Security Code card is meant for rebooting a system like the array/relay has, I think the spare relay needs to be booted before submitting any codes. It should be possible to try submitting those codes multiple times. Put code input as the fourth step.

The crew gathered in the main hall after having been horribly shaken by the brutal murder of Emperor Falkon. Once again, accusations were all across the room, while the more sensible of the group discussed the immediate problem of fixing the communications relay.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, this killing must stop. It would seem to me there are only two suspicious people among us: Arkenbrien and TigerFang. And it is TigerFang who must face judgment today, not only in this realm, but the next.” Russ proclaimed. A few other crew members nodded their heads in agreement, and wrung their hands together, as they looked on at TigerFang.

“What? What are you looking at me for…? …Really? You’re going to listen to this bible-thumping lunatic over here? All I’ve done is try to help fix the relay, and root out the murderers, like you guys! If anyone is suspicious it is Lomsor, or even YOU, Russ!” the distressed ship captain retorted.

“You’re right; you have tried to help us, but what help have you actually brought? Where are your tools, Tiger? And wasn’t it you who wanted to kill someone yesterday? No more of this violence!” Russ spat, rather uncharacteristically, back at him.

The group closed around TigerFang, even his own ship-mate had fiery hatred in his eyes as he stared onward. As they all inched closer he knew he only had one choice: run. The ship captain bolted as fast as he could towards the cargo storage and docking facility, and slammed the door shut behind him as the group clambered over one another in pursuit. He knew there was only one chance for him to make it out of this alive, so he ran to the far end of the room, with the many machines buzzing around him as the facility automagically sorted and unpacked the incredible amount of supplies dropped off by the ship that had departed just days before, as well as sorted the ever increasing crates of ores and minerals. At the far end of the room, was a solitary air lock, and next to it a rack of pressure suits, which TigerFang hurriedly slipped his legs into. It was just as he finished putting on the suit, however, that he realized the angry mob of his fellow crew members had managed to open the door and were running at him. He picked up the helmet for his suit, and hit the open button on the air lock.

Nothing happened.

He desperately slammed his fist on the button, crying out in anger and despair at the futility of it all. With no other hope left, and the group sprinting towards him, he quickly began to climb onto the large machines that were slowly sorting the materials around the room, and they in turn lifted him out of reach of their grasping hands. TigerFang laughed at the murderous group below him, triumphant in his temporary escape. Something seemed off in the crowd though, and indeed as he looked on at them, one of them pointed at him. He turned to look behind him, but it was too late. A massive crate of heavy ore knocked him from his high perch. As he fell, he spotted the air lock door finally opening and closing with the amount of times he had pressed the button. He cursed angrily before his head hit the hard metallic floor, and broke his neck, killing him instantly.

TigerFang has been lynched.

The crew, having witnessed firsthand the death of TigerFang, withdrew quietly to the Main hall, and began to discuss amongst themselves how to fix the array. It was Lomsor who spoke most adamantly, however, that he was certain it was a problem with the mechanical device itself atop the roof of the very room they stood. A spare array could certainly fix the issue with no problems at all he argued. The crew agreed unanimously that it indeed had to be a problem with the mechanisms themselves, it was after all exposed to the harsh elements of the planet Gemini every day of its year.

TerranAmbass was the next to speak up, proclaiming that he had indeed found a powerful Plasma Cutter used for mining, that could be used to remove the current array. Whilst there was some discussion on the matter, most everyone agreed it was probably the only way to get through the massive bolts that secured the array to the roof.

Lomsor joined back in at this point, bolstered by the news of Terran’s discovery. “Well, since we know pretty much everything else, I think you’ll all be pleased I found such a spare array! Let us use it and the plasma cutter then to fix our broken means of communication.” Only one dissented the matter, rather half heartedly, and so it was decided: The crew would replace what they thought was a broken communications array by cutting the old one off with the plasma cutter, and bolting into place a new one.

They set about for hours, accessing the roof with pressurized suits fixing the array. When the work was finally complete, they triumphantly returned to the main hall, and accessed the control panel. However, the light for the array was now flashing red and green rapidly. Had they installed it wrong, or was it a software issue? To complicate matters, a warning light was blinking next to the status indicator.

They had failed.

Defeated, the crew returned to their rooms for the night in hopes for a better day tomorrow.

The crew failed to fix the communications relay..
Night 3

It is now Night and no more posts are allowed in the thread, with the exception of asking the GMs for rule clarifications. All other communications should take place via PM or any other means. Any applicable players should PM Cise and I to activate roles, items, votes, and etc. The day phase will resume in 48 hours.

Magellanic has been replaced by NobleBrutus.

To make this fair, we have decided to reveal Noble’s old role and alignment, so that he wont have an unfair advantage.

NobleBrutus’ old role was: Eavesdropper - All night actions were revealed to the eavesdropper anonymously.

And because he was killed at night originally, you all know Noble was a human.

This decision was made so that magellanic’s faction did not lose a player, and so that the game did not lose a player unnecessarily.

all dissenters will be shot, thank you

I was sent this PM in regards to Magellanic’s replacement. It is important to note that NobleBrutus IS magellanic now. He is NOT the NobleBrutus that died on night one.

With that being said:

I’m sorry to hear that, as I felt I addressed any concerns in my original post. I will attempt to rectify that now:

It is fair because magellanic would have been auto-kicked for inactivity at the end of day 3. This leaves Magellanic’s faction (note the intentional ambiguity there, as to not reveal magellanic’s role or alignment) at a disadvantage, because they will have lost a player through no fault of their own.

Enter NobleBrutus: He requested of me to rejoin the game AS magellanic. He is not the same player that was killed on night one. Obviously, this presents another challenge: Now NobleBrutus will know two roles, Magellanics, and his original role that he started the game with. To fix this problem, I have revealed NobleBrutus’ original role that he started the game with to the public, so that everyone has the same information that Noble now does.

Yes, NobleBrutus’ role. He now does NOT have NobleBrutus’ role, but instead has Magellanic’s role. This is because he is NOT NobleBrutus, he is playing as Magellanic.

No he wont, because I have revealed the information he would have had that would be an advantage to him over other players. Its really not a hard concept to understand here.

In summary, I have assumed Magellanics’s role and alignment. Everything you know about the old Noble is gone except the RP and everything the old Noble knew you all now know.

Hopefully that will help some people avoid being shot by cise…

I wonder how many players want to post ‘I DISSENT!!!’ just to see what would happen…

The hallways in the Living Quarters were dark. The facility was in “night” mode (CCW saves power this way), and the air had a certain sense of depression in it, after the miserable day. In the dark lonely corridors, a set of footsteps echoed. Xamino was out for a walk. He noted the many names on the doors, and was somberly reminded by the recently unoccupied rooms that they were running out of time.

Turning the corner, Xamino headed out of the Living Quarters into the dimly lit Main Hall. The control panel from earlier still had not changed. What had they done wrong, he wondered? He resolved to find the answer the next day, slamming his fist in anger on the desk next to the panel. All of that wasted time… All of those wasted lives.

He was shaken suddenly from his thoughts as a man in dark shadowy clothing let out a quiet, menacing laugh. In his hands he held a massive mining drill, and he was staring right at Xamino as he advanced slowly. Turning to face the man completely, Xamino eyed the dull metallic glint from the tip of the six inch wide bit with fear in his eyes. This was an Agent, he knew that much, but what should he do? His training aboard TigerFang’s ship had not prepared him for hand to hand combat with such a skilled fighter, and he felt a pang in his heart as he suddenly realized he missed the dear captain, Agent or not. He hadn’t gone in a terribly honorable way either, and Xamino vowed not to have the same fate bestowed upon him. He put himself into a defensive fighting stand, his fists ready to strike should the man attempt to move on him.

The man, now only a couple meters away from Xamino, stopped suddenly and the drill whirred into life. The high pitch scream of the spinning bit rang out through the hall, as it came up to its full speed, and again the man laughed at what he thought he was about to do to Xamino.

“C’mon then if you’ve got it in you!” Xamino yelled, his heart now pounding wildly.

“Oi, we’ve got ourselves a live one! Nevertheless, your bravery will do you no good.” The agent spat. “Take him down.”
Xamino looked around, suddenly realizing that the man must not be alone in the room with him. Just at the last moment, he spotted the other man, a slight glint beaming off of lens covered eyes. A dart hit him dead center in the neck, piercing his throat. Xamino fell to his knees, surprised and grasping at his neck, as the first man moved in on Xamino and kicked him onto his back.

“P-please…” Xamino managed to gasp out as the man towered over him, drill in hand.

His cries for mercy were in vain however, as the Agent thrust the drill downwards and into Xamino’s chest, the bit tearing apart his flesh and bones. Xamino cried out in pain, despite the dart piercing his throat, until the drill pierced his lungs and then shortly after tore his lungs apart along with most of the rest of his organs. The agent stood covered in blood and bits of flesh, satisfied Xamino was very, very dead. He dropped the drill to the ground, bit still spinning slowly, and left the room.

Xamino has been killed.

Day 4

Event 1: Repair the Communications Array
Stage 3 - Attempt 2: Repair the Array

Using the knowledge found on day one as well as the tools gathered on day 2, the crew must repair the communications array.

  • First, identify the problem in bold purple.
  • Second, Declare the first tool you would like to use in bold blue.
  • Third, Declare the second tool you would like to use in bold green.
  • Fourth, Declare the third tool you would like to use in bold

  • Fifth, Declare the fourth tool you would like to use in bold teal.

The event gods smile upon you. Same rules as yesterday, however today will be a normal length day.

The last thing Noble remembered was plummeting towards the bottom of the Big-Ass Ravine to meet his death head on, quite literally, but something strange had happened. He could not recall exactly what had occurred, but knew it was why he was alive right now. He had cheated death, or had he? His old body was indeed dead and this one was someone else’s. Granted they were a vegetable to begin with and he had only made use of what wasn’t being used.

As Noble attempted to get up and get his bearings he had a sudden and surreal flash back. This time he was falling into the Big-Ass Ravine. When in free fall he remembered slipping into a dream like state where he woke to find himself in a room. However, the only thing in this room was quite an odd pedestal, which, upon further inspection held a book.
Looking upon the book he realised that it was covered in runes and a very odd skull. Everything about the book was odd and weird, but for reasons unknown to Noble, he opened the book. From there it all had happened in a sudden flash, the voice that talked to him had been pleasant and reassuring, yet it was wicked and evil.

It gave him a choice, a single choice that Noble found the answer to quite quickly. It would bring his soul to a new host, and allow him to continue living a mortal life. To what ends Noble does not know, but he had accepted the bargain whole heartedly.

Noble examined his new body, he must have saved a good 15 years on his previous one and had grown half a foot in height. The body,… no,… HE, was wearing a standard issue CCW miner outfit, digging in the pockets he found an ID badge, it read ‘Employee: Magnellanic , ID Number 16548 65290 27544 08524 , and a face picture, to which Noble now mused was rather handsome. Picking up Magnellanic’s old helmet he took out the video log module and replayed it on the HUD, Magnellanic was drinking heavily at a party in what was now Noble’s living quarter, stumbling out of the room with an attractive equally-drunk lady-friend under each arm he boasted loudly "…erghh-I amm goin’ tae be the firshht man to straddle the Big-Assshh Ravine!!" and so he stumbled out onto the mining platform all to the cheers of his ladies, climbed over the high railing and threw his helmet and hence video logger into the Ravine… Noble could only guess at what happened next. Ending the recording a message appeared on the HUD, 'Last auto-medical check up 182125 days overdue, CCW is no longer at all responsible for your health. … Noble ran a calculation through his head… that was exactly 500 years ago…

He’d have time to worry about that later though, for now he began a perilous climbing ascent up the side of the Big-Ass ravine, thankfully he had awoken on a small ledge, about a tenth of the way down, it shouldn’t be more than a couple of kilometres to the nearest mining air duct which I can use to get back to base Noble thought.

[OOC/] Yesterday was a bit of a mess, let’s compile what we know.

The problem we want to fix: The Broken Comms array

The tools we have available: Plasma Cutters, Wire Cutters, a security code, Two other codes (410t & 4206) (which were found on a blue and white card - could have significance)

We have also a spare Relay that we have replaced the old one with.

Pendrokar and Lomsor experienced disturbance/jamming on the airstrip on night one.

---- EDIT

Arkenbrien, If what you found could be in any way related to fixing the comms array I recommend you share it. The same goes for everybody else… after all even if you get killed we can still use your found item (Confirmation please?) (see Trevise’s reply).
Naturally I’ve found nothing being inactive for three days and as Noble on my first night I was merely attacked by a swarm of creatures and would have meant I’d be unable to vote the next day.

[/OOC]

So… that went a little away from what I expected. What I didn’t notice yesterday (and I assume Pendrokar didn’t notice either) was that he put the text for the Security Code in regular blue, not dark blue. His vote didn’t get counted, so the whole thing ended up getting kiboshed.

I think we may have been on to something though, so… Should we try it again?

  1. Broken Relay
  2. Plasma Cutter
  3. Spare Relay
  4. Security Code
  5. Declare problem fixed.

Edit: Deleted [41ot]

Items are non transferable. If the player holding it dies, it is considered out of play.

So for example:

Both of these are no longer available.

While I’m at it:

Even though the crew replaced the old array in RP, I will ask that you still declare the correct order of parts, including the spare relay and plasma cutter if you feel those are the correct tools up to that stage. What Enginish has posted is what I am looking for, minus the last tool which is no longer in play. EDIT: When I say what he has posted is what I am looking for, I am referring to the format of his post, not necessarily the tools/problem he has listed.

Darn. Hoped there would be more effects then just some blinking lights. Where’s a manual when you need one!

This time I’ll try to update my post:

  1. Broken Relay
  • Plasma Cutter
  • Spare Relay
  • Security Code
  • Declare problem fixed

It’s not really fair to take Xaminos codes away even though he told us the names of those codes.

Now would be the right time to disclose some game changing codes we could plug into this thing … comm on, no aces up your sleeves?
