How’s it going friend? You’ve always been my best customer at the Raging Buck Tavern (realized I never gave the bar a name previously)
Yay! we have 17 players. I’m going to go and write the role messages now, expect them to arrive this evening and probably for the day to start later today too.
(game hasn’t started yet, so talking in the thread is still allowed).
Every player should now have received a private message telling them their role. Contact me if you have not.
King_Cosmos awoke in his room at the Piercing Stake Motel and gently swore to himself as he pulled bits of hay from his hair. The sun was just rising over the carpathian mountains, bathing the village of Eliseni in a glorious golden light - “this place might be a backwater but it sure has some nice scenery”, he thought to himself as he stood up and stretched his stiff muscles.
As King_Cosmos walked out of his room and down the corridor for breakfast he saw a strange stain on the floor of the hallway near another door. This is not exactly unusual for the piercing stake motel but this caught his eye because it seemed to glisten in the light, casting a dull red glow, whatever it was it was still wet. Whatever, it wasn’t his, he carried on downstairs to get his breakfast and to complain to the landlady about the disgusting habits of the other customers leaking into the hallway.
The town guard TerranAmbass was the first to hear the screams coming from the motel. He jumped up from his breakfast in the Raging Buck Tavern and sprinted across the road to investigate. As he rounded the corner at the top of the stairs he saw a King_Cosmos, looking slightly pale, trying to calm down the hysterical landlady who was screaming incoherently and gesturing towards an open door. TerranAmbass stepped forward and glanced into the room to see what all the fuss was about…
Inside the room was the body of a visitor to the town who TerranAmbass had only met once - he’d mentioned something about developing a game with planets in and needing to see some real mountains up close. Clearly the man had been taken by surprise in his sleep, his throat had been cut in his sleep and the blood had covered the entire floor. As TerranAmbass leant forward to get a better look at the body he saw something that chilled him to the bone, his throat hadn’t just been cut there were clear bite marks! This man had been attacked by werewolves.
TerranAmbass walked outside the motel to see a gathering crowd, he announced “After 17 years the scourge of werewolves has returned to Eliseni! The visitor to our village, @INovaeFlavien, has been killed and unless we kill them first it is only a matter of time before they kill us all!”
It Is Now Daytime, Day 1
Cast your votes for who to lynch for the death of @INovaeFlavien
The day will end in ~48 hours
hollering from the bottom of the well, the echo carrying surprisingly far:
Well, we have 6 suspects so far, the 6 who “liked” the death of Flavien. Bloody monsters all of them.
Cise quietly strolled into town carrying a pick axe over his shoulder. He had just left a mine deep in the carpathian mountains that had been attacked and destroyed by rogue bandits. However, his quiet was quickly ruined by a large commotion at the center of town. Upon arriving he discovered that he was once again in the middle of a shit storm… and apparently there is someone trapped in the well
Out of the frying pan and into the fire… Lucas thought to himself. Perhaps he should take his chances in the woods after all. Although it would take some courage to venture out there now that the werewolves are stalking their prey. Suspicion was starting to spread among the crowd…
Addas held a loosely-balled fist to his face as he attempted to hold back the bile threatening to force itself up his throat and turned back to the carnage in the room.
He shook his head morosely, and left the hotel for good.
“Get that body to the undertaker as soon as possible,” he ordered. “Maybe he can find some clue on it.”
As a subordinate moved to comply, Addas himself made for the armory.
He’d dealt with these beasts before. . . he wasn’t going to take a single, bloody chance. Memory of his wish the day before obnoxiously battered at his mind. Things had, indeed, gotten interesting.
Careful what you wish for, Addas. . . you just might fucking get it.
He increased his pace. He had a job to do.
“Ahh … I prefered my worn in matrace, well before it was covered with a pile of mud” Valeriu mumbled as he left his “room”.
What was going on here? A bunch of people crowded around a object on the floor.
He didn’t care. Or that’s what he tried to tell himself. He was a routined man, and even if he can’t do that work after the incidents of yesterday he at least tries to follow the schedule nevertheless.
While trying to get to the innkeeper he glimpses what lied there in his periphery. He couldn’t resist the itch and looked over.
The moment he saw that open throat time stood still for a moment. ‘I hoped I wouldn’t have to get trough this again … so many years ago. Darn, those Beasts! Can’t they just stay away?’. His mind was already opening its dark depths. He manages to shake the thought before that happened.
On his face that short burst of feelings where nearly invisible. Though the few who knew him could tell. The expression of his face became even grimmer as he left the scene.
“Hmm. Buna dimineata”, he grumbled to the innkeeper, “This doesn’t make it any better.”, he added while look one last time at the corpse. “I need to clear my head. I could chop some wood for the oven for a lower room rate.”, Valeriu offered.
After enduring the same old “suggestions” of kinds like: “That’s no work for an elder man” and “Getting some rest”, reminding him who he is and some haggling. He headed out the door and to the back of the building.
‘After all these years I still don’t regret living out there’, he thought to himself as soon as he catches sight of the woods.
(this should also count as somewhat character creation RP)
Topper slid down the scrag slope behind the church, wondering what the commotion was. The morning’s ranging had not gone well, something had been scaring off the local wildlife. The village had a decent supply of crop, but without fresh meat to hunt and the weather making trade caravans even less frequent, they would be in trouble before long.
When he hit the bottom of the slope and emerged onto the main road, he noticed that the village’s small guard detachment were all milling around the hotel. Topper rushed over to find out what going on.
“Some poor blighter got knocked off overnight”, one of the guard’s offered when asked. “Got a nasty bite mark in his neck too, we’re reckoning it’s werewolves.”
Topper gestured to go inside, and the guard escorted him to the scene, where the visitor’s corpse was now surrounded by the rest of the village, apart from that idiot stuck down the well. One glance at the corpse confirmed what the guard had said. Only a werewolf could have caused such a bite. No wonder the hills and forests were deserted; if a werewolf was on the loose, most animals would know well enough to get well clear. It looked like he would have to put his next ranging on hold. It would be too dangerous to travel in the woods alone, but with a werewolf in the town, he could hardly ask for a detachment of guardsmen to join him either.
As the town guard removed the body, Topper made his way back to his shack. Things were going to get interesting over the next few days and he would have to make sure he had his arrows stocked up and blades ready…
The door to the church creaks open. A tired looking man steps outside, then carefully closes the door behind him. Rain beats down violently, churning the already impassable street into a muddy river. The man stares dejectedly out at the storm. Under his breath, he renews his oath.
“Today. Today is the day. On my honor, I will find one. I will know no peace until I do.”
He buckles on his sword, an impractically thin and hopelessly rusted thing. On its scabbard, in faded letters, are the words Florean Ionescu.
His boots, caked with mud from the previous night’s hunt, are kicked violently against the door in a futile attempt to clean them. The rain is incessant.
He sighs, then pulls on his cloak and heads into the street.
Vampire hunter was a romantic job title, but deer hunter was a more accurate one. He has snares in the woods that need checking, and rain is no deterrent when going hungry is the alternative.
As he passes the Piercing Stake, he hears people talking excitedly over the storm’s tumult.
“…Flavien is dead. A bite to the neck…”
At this his heart jumps into his throat. Twenty years of his life have been spent in fruitless pursuit of the vampir, and at long last an opportunity to live up to the promise of his birth presents itself. He could redeem his honor. He could return home…
He knows all this talk of werewolves is foolishness. He knows what the real culprit is. He runs for the woods, but the prospect of deer has been forgotten. He seeks a more dangerous prey now.
Also, we should start voting soon. I know no one wants to be first, so I’ll break the ice.
LyskTrevise, make a post and I’ll remove my vote.
Edit: As promised.
Lance Darkenwald shook off sleep as he heard screams nearby. He raised himself up out of the dirt, grabbing onto a piece of stone above him to help him up. He looked around, realizing he had, once again, passed out in the cemetery, and he was indeed leaning on a gravestone. He grinned an odd grin as his strangely sharp teeth shone in the fading moonlight at the irony: vampires should rise from graves afterall, he thought to himself.
He stumbled lazily from gravestone to gravestone as he headed towards where he heard the screams, glaring at the church with disgust and dusting himself off with great effort. He reached the dusty road and raised himself to his full height of just over six feet before straightening out his jacket, shaking out his cape, and crossing the street towards the inn where he assumed the screams were coming from, due to the large crowd gathering there. He flung open the door mightily, with an air of royalty and arrogance about him to declare his presence, partly curious about the screams, and partly to get out of the coming sunrise.
The crowd turned briefly to see what obnoxious newcomer was making so much noise in the doorway, before someone asked quietly “Hey isn’t that the weird guy who thinks hes a vampire? He looks like he just crawled out of a grave!” Quiet chuckles and laughter could be heard as Lance entered the room unaffected by the comment, or perhaps he simply didnt notice them. He walked with an odd gait, and his attire was practically ruined. “I heard he just came here a few days ago, maybe he did this… The crazy bastard. Have you seen those teeth—” one of the onlookers began to say, but was interrupted by the obviously crazy Lance.
“Out of my way, humans, I must retreat to my quarters for the day cycle… Did you not hear me, peasants, move!” He pushed his way through the crowd showing his oddly sharp teeth in threat to various people, noticing the blood at his feet only briefly.
Having made his way through the crowd, he stopped a few feet away, looking at his boots, now covered in drying blood. He licked his lips hungrily and found the inn keeper with his gaze in the crowd before demanding “Inn Keep! Have this blood brought to my room in a jar later!” With a twirl of his cape, he turned and headed to his room, the inn keeper shaking her head with disgust and annoyance.
He entered his room, and closed the door, leaning back against it, muttering to himself reassuringly “I AM a vampire… I AM! … Totally.”
It’s too damn early in the morning for digging graves, cybercritic thought as he made his way to the room where the murder took place. With a cigarette in his mouth he pushed through the crowd that gathered all the way from the bottom of the stairs, up them and around the doorway where the blood pool lay and the body was. At least the villagers didn’t like blood, maybe they didn’t want to get their shoes dirty, this meant that there was nobody in the room with the victim.
Looking around the room it was obvious what everyone thought, this was a werewolf’s deed, a nice chunk of the poor man’s throat was missing. And there was blood, so much blood, makes you wish this was a vampire kill, the blood wouldn’t be here, it’s would surely make for easier cleaning.
He will fit into a 1.7m box, if we bury him without shoes and twist him a bit, no need to waste that box, it was intended for that teenager, then his body disapeared. I am concerned about the way this looks, if it was personal the werewolf could have easily dismembered the whole body, this is a calculated kill, there will be more. Will pass this information to TerranAmbass.
“I need somebody to grab his feet and help me bring him to the Church…”
Hearing the commotion in the Square, Noble grabbed his tome and poked his head from the tent opening. Seeing the crowd gathered he offered a prayer of thanks to Antemera for gathering him a flock, donned his best coat, cleared his throat and headed straight for the makeshift podium being used by TerranAmbass.
“Brothers and Sisters!” roared Noble, the strength of Antemera coursing through his veins. “I bring good news! Antemera has granted us all a chance at salvation. We must root out those in our midst who would deny us this!” Muttering began in the crowd ‘who is this preacher, and what of his God?’, hearing this Noble addressed the crowd “Do not fear, Antemera will reveal himself over the coming days of our trial and protect all those of good heart.”
“Now, I believe it is the will of Antemera that Krishna be the first to feel Antemera’s justice, it was only last night that I seen him stumbling around drunkenly - I believe it was he who has brought this fate upon us!”

I call in @lolsparta4 to make a move and show himself. We need everyone here in the market square to cast their vote in this important decision.
There are few more inactives who might be trying to stay out of the spotlight in the first day.

As a vampire, I must vote for a vampire hunter: Enginish.
While Pendrokar is not a witch hunter himself. He has witnessed quite a lot of witch burnings back at Latveria. Rumors has it that once burned, the hair and eyes of witches and warlocks would turn bright white. During some inquisitions the accused even admit that they are from a master race named with initials PC. But this is a different kind of heresy, these heretics can turn into Werewolves.
Perhaps @King_Cosmos is performing a transformation enchantment back to human form? (For lack of a single post)

As per usual, here is the first track for the Soundtrack for this game. It is based on the setting, the map and some of the RP in this thread. I will try to make one for each day I stay alive (and maybe more, depending on time).
I don’t accuse anyone as of yet. However accusing people due to RP sounds exactly like the thinking of a wolf to me, so I have my suspects.
Great! I’ll listen to it when I get home
“Thank you for your hospitality, good man,” Brother Xamino said as he stepped outside of the humble but well-kept house that was the last one of the village on the road past the abandoned villa. “I wish I could have brought better news.”
“No, please,” the old, obviously griefing man said from the dark inside the house, “I got to thank you from the bottom of my ol’ heart for bringing me the last will of my daughter.” He clutched his chest as a burst of pain shook his body, but caught himself before the Brother could extend a steadying hand. “What terrible times to be alive in.”
“Indeed. Remember though that there is always warm sunshine on sand somewhere in the world good man. Grief and remember her, but remember to continue living.”
“How can I continue living knowing that she died in such a way?” The father shook his head, then visibly steeled himself. “You wanted to leave already, Brother, don’t let ol’ me keep you any longer. Good bye.” The door closed.
For a moment, the Brother stood silently in front of the door, seeing in his mind’s eye the anguish the father must be going through. But as his god had written in the holy scriptures, allow the grieving, stop the reaving.
Walking towards the bar to get some news of the state of the roads so that he could set out, he quickly noticed the commotion happening around the Piercing Stake. The same guard whom he had met the day before upon arriving at the village paused just long enough to answer his question on what was happening before continuing on.
“A killing by a werewolf?” the Brother muttered to himself. It looked like the Serpent had put another quest on his road of pilgrimage. Patting something under his habit, he stepped into the wildly discussing crowd, firm in his believe that he would get to the bottom of this crime and save all the innocent poor souls.
Thanks Krishna, definitely sets a great mood. I have no clue whom to lynch so far, so nothing from me yet, but I’ll be reading everything carefully, even RP.
Where has Ark been in all this?
Arkenbrien!!! Present yourself to the Guards and submit for interrogation!
