At the time of writing, Battlescape had raised $424,628, a fraction over its goal of $422,832. I-Novae had raised 93% of their goal with 3 days remaining.

Ah, shouldn’t have used “$” then?
I’m going to be lazy and not look that up. 
It just so happens that “dollar” is also not exclusive to the US and that $ is the symbol for a dollar in the same way £ is the pound and € is the Euro.
It makes sense that an Australian website uses the Australian dollar as a currency
