Art Challenges for Infinity Fan Art (Challenge 4 - An Infinity Short Story - Ended! - Winner: ThornEel!)

Great! Can you also make a render without the texture in wireframe? So that I can see the shapes without the distortion of the projected textures?

Here is the wire frame versions.Large Image

How do you upload images to this blog Lucas? Yours are set up so people can click on them to bring up larger image. Mine you have to zoom in. :frowning:

Just for anyone who doesn’t know the basics:

  • Put cursor where you want to put your Image.
  • Drag and drop or Import with Image button.
  • Wait for upload. You’ll see this:
Text stuff.
<img src="//inovaestudios.blob.core.windows.net/forumsavatars/15346018e303259a349dadab19af11114c126e029eed.gif" width="665" height="500">
More Text stuff.

Now how to make it clickable?

Edit: Option 1: Thanks Lucas

  • Remove anything exept the URL.
  • Add http: to the link.
  • Done. Should look something like this:
Text stuff.

More Text stuff.

Option 2: Finer controll over the size if needed.

First you upload and post the image like you’ve done it so far. Then you need to open the image in a new window (right click on the image). Copy the URL and then put the link into the image in the post.

I might have time to continue my ship in the weekend so I might get one perspective view into this challenge (before Sunday). But at worst I will compete with the ortos and post the perspective view after the competition.

I still have to make a good perspective drawing, which I hope to make tomorrow or Sunday. How’s Universalpainki and Terran doing? I think I can manage to make the top and bottom perspective in time.

The artist’s block has rebar in it. I have yet to come up with a silhouette. :expressionless:

Still along way to go. Here is latest progress. Hard part is that I got 2 very different designs in my mind but only time for one model

Going to shorten the Big wing. What do you guys think?

I think it will look better. Go for it.

How’s everyone doing?

I’m on the perspective view now. I just might get it ready today.

It looks like I will not have a finished looking ship in any form. Might get the Top view closest to a finished look.

Should we extend the deadline a little bit?

I haven’t been able to do more than a few explorative perspective views in the end. I thought it would be much easier and less time consuming  I don’t have an A3 scanner here, so here are some photos of the drawings.

Above you can see how I decided to turn the ship’s direction around. I felt the new direction was more aggressive and less carrier/hauler like.

The last drawing was meant to be the final step before making a proper presentation drawing including a bottom view perspective etc. I might be able to improve it tonight, but I need to prepare a project presentation first.

The drawings were made using Copic markers (very light ones, to explore shapes) and fineliners (which are very unforgiving of mistakes). I disallowed myself to use pencils, erasers and rulers, because they slow the process and make the drawings look dull.

The whole process of coming up with a good design took longer than I expected, and the end result isn’t what I aimed for, but I’m happy with my productivity and I improved my speed and carelessness

Well, this week and next weekend I don’t really have spare time, so it won’t matter that much for me.

I would say extend a week or two? I would really like to see everyone get a more complete expression of what there going for. As for me I found a bunch of aspects to my design that need to be removed and/or radically changed.
