Will they deliver and sustain , time will tell.
Star Atlas is not the only blockchain powered spaceship game out there, you also have Infinite Fleet which is more closer to Eve Online (with a slight Homeworld vibe).
Since they are play-to-earn the player base of these two games can very quickly shadow Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, Dual Universe, No Manās Sky and Eve Online.
But that will only happen with a gigantic condition: that CIG, CCP and all the others never get in the NFT craze. The day they get in, Star Atlas and Infinite Fleet are dead.
I donāt think fans of NFT games actually want to bother playing them. That limits the potential market and defeats the point as youāre tying the NFTs to a centralized platform.
It incentivisies companies to not bother making a good game, or really a game at all. Star Citizen would be no better than Star Atlas at drawing in investment for NFTs, is what iām saying; despite SA not existing. SA and titles like it (ones that donāt exist) might even be better, as thereās no platform to tie a sense of external value to them by their use in them.
