Homeworld Remastered [WARNING: FANBOYS]

Working on implementing a PWM Button Presser in AutoHotKey to be able to play Homeworld with my 3D mouse.

Nearly there

Edit … Well … took some more time to implement Rotational Axis to mouse movement. But in the end it worked out. But I think I’ll deactivate that feature while playing, because the mouse isn’t usable that way anyway. So It’s of to using the Translational axis for that until some other time.

Here’s the code: Code to make Homeworld Remastered Playable with a 3D Mouse or other Analog Controller Ā· GitHub

And some gifys

Sorry for the encoding … I’m trying things … this surely isn’t the ā€œbest thingā€.

Didn’t even notice this thread :frowning:

This game is awesome, I still need to get a shelving unit for the replica and the box, it’s currently sat in my wardrobe still in the box. I do admit I was a little disappointed with the material used for the ship and the paint job was different than what I expected but I still think it looks pretty awesome and am happy about spending the money I did on it. Unfortunately my experience with Amazon is a different story but this is a thread about the game and not that

Not remastered (yet), but I think this is a stand-alone demo for a discarded mission:

It’s supposed to go right after mission 4 of the original Homeworld. I’ll try this out when I have time.

Anyone here know why the Homeworld 1 LAN was scrapped from the classic version?

(I’m not bitter about how Homeworld 1 was gutted for the ā€˜remaster’, honest. (Ok so maybe a tad bitter, because ballistic physics in any RTS are FREAKING AWESOME. Still; Gearbox would have needed to screw up a lot more for me to not have put in a pre-order, even knowing full well I was only getting a Homeworld 1 mod for Homeworld 2 (There are a lot more problems than that due to the engine-switch, but I’ve already lost my voice from shouting at the uselessness of support frigates now while playing HW1 races in the multiplayer beta, so maybe I’ll wait till some other time.))) (:

Thanks for closing them 8o

Nope.

LAN doesn’t work for HW2 either. It’s just one of those things we have to scratch our heads over.

But I’m hopeful that eventually, everything will be great. Hopefully they will come up with a solution to the rock, paper,BATTLECRUIZERS, LAN, resource collecters from HW1 not having to latch, HW1 supports not having to latch :unamused:, amongst the myriad of things the official forums complain about, including the suprising lack of ballistic physics.

One post summed it up well on the official forums. Let me summarize:

I wonder how Gearbox’s big fix for formations is getting along. They were talking about having an in-house build of the new system ready and working for the beginning of this week.

Hope the lack of news isn’t a sign that it’s failed spectacularly.

The lack of formations really put a crimp on the HW1 races. Playing them, I never even used formations after a while. I really hope GB fixes it right the first time…

I haven’t played Homeworld recently, but I have some interesting news.

At the college, I managed, after some negotiations, to use their 3d printer to make one (1) (small) model of something.

Being into space games, I naturally chose to print a space ship. Being the Homeworld fanboy I am, I naturally chose to print something from Homeworld. Being particularity fond of the first release, I naturally chose to print something from HW1. Of course, I chose to print a model of a Kushan ship, because they’re just so cool to look at. I remember the very first time I went through the campaign, and I rolled off my very first destroyer. That moment was one of the coolest moments in my gaming life. So naturally, I chose the Kushan Destroyer.

So here it is:
(sorry for crummy picture, I just now realized I didn’t have a proper camera other than a borrowed tablet)

Yes, I did manage to weasel in two very small, tiny, wouldn’t-take-any-time-at-all-to-print turrets.

After I’m done assembling and painting it, I’ll post a pic.
