#19 Days Until Release
Here is to hoping Gearbox doesnât screw up this franchise, too.
I have high hopes for at least the gameplay aspect.
Hereâs some actual footage that was at the PAX South I believe.
I was watching that at work the other day. Noticed at 10:48 he mentions âthe other projectâ!!! That could just be Shipbreakers but I suspect there is something else in the worksâŚ
Glad that I didnât play Homeworld 1, now I will have a reason to do so.
* GASP *
You, sir, are a philistine. A barbarian.
One thing the original had over the remastered version, though.
No effing depth of field!
Watching those, I have the impression to be simultaneously near-sighted, far-sighted and looking at miniatures.
Good thing those are optional. (They are optional, of course. Right?)
@ThornEel thatâs confirmed, you can see the guy turning it off in the video posted by @Arkenbrien so happy days!
And thanks Ark for posting that vid!
My one gripe is that the nebula is so bright you canât see stuff when youâre looking towards it!
I believe the technical term for that is âLens Flaresâ.
Actually itâs bloom. But the point is the nebula shouldnât be so bright in the first place.
14 DAYS UNTIL RELEASE
Just as confirmation,
I saw Lotion [sic] Blur and DoF effects can they be turned off?
a. Yes! there appears to be an exhaustive video options menu:
Please see pax gameplay capture for options menu
From: HWR FAQ. So both Motion Blur and DoF can be turned off.
Clearly motion blur is always on but moisturising is optional.
#13 DAYS UNTIL RELEASE!
Hereâs a 4k version of a wallpaper (hopefully). Yes, taken from in game, no up-scaling applied.
Oops, wait, wrong one, just a secâŚ
Yeah, must have had a repeat file.
Here ya go:
Hands-on-preview.
The exiting bit: The game not only runs at 4k, it runs above 4k. It has a max res of 5120 x 2880
Just to give you an idea, hereâs a 5k jpeg
Also of note, the UI can be scaled up, so you now have no excuse not to buy that 5k monitor.
Yet another edit. @INovaeKeith you know, if you design the game to run at 5k, you donât have to worry about antialiasing or anything like that. Just hurl as many pixels as you can at somebodyâs face!
because the market available with hardware to run it will be too small to pay for lunch, let alone the development of a game.
