Why Musk just can’t admit that electric cars can’t pass as common cars due to scarce resources needed to produce them. Just continue making them as luxury cars. Must be a climate doomsday in his head. “Oh no, water levels are going to rise, people are going to have to move. Must prevent such a catastrophe. Oh dear oh dear oh dear.”
I saw a billboard in the middle of LA from Toyota(I think, not sure which one but one of the bigger car manufacturers) advertising an electric car that charges to 80% in 30 minutes(similar to a Tesla).
Regardless or not whether it’s an electric car thing, why does he need to admit they can’t be pass as common cars when other manufacturers are creating them? There’s clearly a market for them and other car manufacturers are trying to get into the game regardless of the scarcity of their resources. I don’t think electric cars should be synonymous with Musk. They aren’t anymore.
100 years ago gas and oil was a scarce resource as well. Humans nearly drove whales extinct over desire for their oil until we found a better type of oil to burn.
Electric cars already pass as common cars. From an economic standpoint, EVs simply cost less to run in terms of maintenance and fuel which means businesses will use them for that extra saving. IMO the environmental factor is just to sweeten the deal and make people feel good about it. Musk simply did what was required to restore more confidence in investing in the technology. Now the entire world is going to transition to electric in a matter of years and the cost of production will fall dramatically with the new R&D being put into it.
Because the populist wave currently needs to have us bash on Musk, whatever he does.
The guy has done what we could only dream off before he started his adventures into space and the car industry. Seems he’s going crazy now, but most visionaries tend to do so, as long as he’s not doing harm to the cause, I’m prepared to give him as much slack as needed.
Tesla Go Private and Share Trading for Tesla shares have been halted and back to bizness
Space X , is also a cash burn , but its ok , printing money is on . HyperLoop is ok.
Please shitpost comments related webmag below (no offence, i like IB fans post on Elon ) section a usual .
Overall I’ve been a huge fan of Musk’s goals with Tesla and SpaceX but lately he does seem to be unraveling a bit. The stress must be getting to him or something.
It depends how well they are shielded from that pressure. Elon has always had an attitude of putting in crazy hours himself to stay ahead of competition (he did it establishing PayPal), and the automotive industry would be quite a cutthroat one to tackle I’m guessing so I’d say most of the pressure is on himself and he seems to thrive on that.
Keep in mind Elon was running 3 companies - one of which was bought by Tesla. That still leaves him running 2 companies and Tesla has been having a lot of problems.
Elon Musk has tweeted again about a man he had previously accused of being a child abuser.
“You don’t think it’s strange he hasn’t sued me? He was offered free legal services,”
He has a point though. Why would anybody decline what would essentially be free money? On top of that he was slandered and branded in front of millions of people, why would he let such a serious accusation stand?
Either he doesn’t care about money and his reputation or he is actually a pedophile.
Maybe the guy just doesn’t like the spotlight or can’t be bothered at the moment. Maybe he’s recovering still from the whole rescue. How can we know the wider context here. For a top tech guy like Elon to be engaging in this sort of internet behaviour, well it lowers him somewhat to the level of Pres. Donny Tiny Hands Drumpf.
Elon should be focused on getting his car company in good shape. And talking about BFR & Mars, Mars Mars!
Reading that article, it does say he said it in response to a journalist’s apparent lack of research on the matter. So instead of it being a frivolous tweet from the ravaged mind of a billionaire as it was portrayed here, Musk was actually challenging the journalist and making a point about journalistic integrity - which he has also been concerned about in the past.
Below the sensationalist click-bait introduction is:
Mr Musk’s latest tweet was written in response to a former journalist, who had accused him of hypocrisy.
“Your dedication to facts and truth would have been wonderful if applied to that time when you called someone a pedo,” posted Drew Olanoff.
In response, the tech entrepreneur not only questioned why Mr Unsworth had not taken him to court but also attacked Mr Olanoff for not carrying out his own investigation into the matter.
“So you actually did nothing and yet imply you are a truth-seeker,” wrote Mr Musk.
