Nice!
And no problem Iām just glad we are slowly but steadily gaining members and/or followers! Itās good news for the project and good to see new faces (read: icons/names).

Welcome aboard, Wolf! There are cookies and some sort of dried fruit bars on the back table. Feel free to help yourself to a few! Just avoid the ketchup packets. They were provided by Mr. Jafo, and their age couldnāt be verified by carbon dating.
whoa there, shots fired
Whatās Jafo gonna do? Give him more expired ketchup packets?
Hello there!
I used to follow Flavienās journal on gamedev.net (back in what⦠2004?). As a computer graphics noob I remember being fascinated by his writings and experiments. I later lost track of the Infinity project, although coming from time to time to check the status.
Iām very happy to see this project finally starting to materialize. Hats off to these developers. Your perseverance and dedication is admirable. I can see that this community played a great part in keeping the fire alive as well.
Flavien, no matter what happens with the Kickstarter, you better make a goddamn game out of this, YOU HEAR ME? A GODDAMN GAME!
This engine is something special. You already know that but I wish more people could see how ahead of everything this technology is.
Iāve been trying to spread the word over Reddit these days, and will keep doing it.
Cheers from Uruguay.
Hello there! Coming to you from Indiana in the U.S. I heard about Infinity:Battlescape through the Descent: Underground project, as a big Descent fan. Iāve passed over every open space/space sim since playing Freespace 2 for a short time, played a lot of FPS, a few flight sims, some strategy and tower games. Infinity:Battlescape is clearly unique, and the more I look the more impressed I am (scope, graphics, sim elements, developers, game vision, ā¦). Really looking forward to the game, and I will be playing the Prototype come January.
Believe it or not the game that continually comes to mind as I watch these videos and streams is an old PC game called āCodename: Eagleā. I played that game on LAN with friends purely for the fun of exploring and enjoying the 3D worlds (trying to fly the canyons is airplanes as fast as possible without crashing, flying as high as possible on a single tank of gas to ditch the plane and skydive down, climbing small mountains with trucks, ā¦). There may also have been a few unconfirmed instances of vehicles being stacked up over a few sticks of dynamite⦠Coordinating with friends in a 3D virtual world, and dreaming up new things to do in it is a blast. I guess Iām going to have to start using the term āSolar Systemā instead of āWorldā, from here on out.
Glad to be here, and look forward to contributing!
Hello! I saw this game engine a while back and I was very impressed. A few days ago I see the KS!
Fund - Fund - Fund! So now Iām a proud supporter of this great work.
Just wanted to stop in and say Hello.
So, KS is over. How do activate my stuff?
The guys behind I-Novae need to first get their things together as well as prepare their account system and the prototype for release to the backers. That might take a while.
If you give us specifics on what stuff you want to activate we could give you more detailed dates on when you can expect to get that.
Oh, so it wonāt be based on this system weāre currently talking in? Thatās great news, i couldnāt stand it since the old forum got shut down.
Well, i pledged at 250$ level, so i guess i could use dev forum, badge and prototype to play with.
The forum software is probably staying. The account system that is hooked into the forums and the main website is probably going to be extended to fit the new needs.
Release of the first dev version which seems to be the prototype or based on the prototype will be somewhen in January. It sounds like the dev forums will go up some when around that time too.
I would expect a single email from Kickstarter asking you to fill in your account name which will grant you access to both the dev version and the dev forums at the same time.
Oh well, thanks, guess itās time to start waiting. A few months after all these years wonāt be a problem.
Hello Pilots!
I am a newcomer to these forums but I have had one eye on Infinity since the Quest for Earth days and to be honest, I never thought it would actually get to this point.
Flavien has been showing us some truly brilliant tech videos for years now but I couldnātā shake the feeling this was just vaporware and would never see the light of day.
Well, iām so glad all thats changed now thanks to the Kickstarter!
Finally, I-Novae Studios have managed to define some boundaries and develop a roadmap to seeing this superb tech become a game.
Initially I pledged at the $23 tier and was happy to just āfire and forgetā until the game came out proper in Sept 2017 but over the days and weeks following, I found all i was doing in my spare time was either watching the KS page, visiting this forum or watching YouTube videos of the prototype. I was becoming obsessed!!!
This rarely happens to me with a video game, I mean, I have been gaming since 1983 when I got my hands on a Spectrum 48k as a young boy so I have seen and played thousands of games over the years and Iāll tell you something, it takes something special to have me drooling over my keyboard like this!
So inevitably my pledge jumped up, first to $75 then finally I took the plunge up to $250. I am now playing the waiting game until January but Iāll be here, on the forums giving my thoughts and opinions on the games progress.
So heres looking forward to discussing with, and meeting you all.
Iām sure this is going to be fun!
Hi,
Iām also new here. I love everything space related (in a very superficial visual way sadly). Learned about project maybe year ago, I think it was through Scott Manley channel, but Iām not sure. Or some terrain generation channel. I really liked the ambitions of the engine and I loved the realistic visuals (keep it up! I love atmospheric effects the most, stunning.). So when KS campaign launched, I pledged my highest amount as of yet Iāve also backed ED for example and played a lot, but so far it didnāt really fulfil my deviant fantasies and found it a bit boring in the end
(however still I like that project and Iām curious about Horizons expansion)
I hope I can give some useful feedback when the times come, will try to keep it constructive and realistic.
I was wondering, is there a place/thread to offer services to the team? My field is design/marketing (UX, web, online marketing, visual executions, branding and so on) and I would love to help with anything I can handle along my full-time stuff. I would love to support the team at least a little
Donāt worry, weāre an open community here. We donāt judge people who like to make giant Hellion stacks.
Your best bet for a response from the team to any big offers would be to send them an e-mail at contact@inovaestudios.com, however do note that their time will be limited at the moment since they will be working on post-KS stuff. Otherwise, you can make a suggestion for the creation of some sort of volunteer or contribution section in the forums. Or you can simply start a thread about whatever subject it is you want to help with.
Thanks, new thread might not be a bad idea. Just a list of people willing to help when and if needed and field they work in.
Hey there! I am Classical Potato.
Iām glad that I made the decision to support I:B, and cant wait for it to come out. I love anything Sci-Fi, books, games, shows, and more. Iām also interested in RTS games, even though I usually lose. I tend to be a leader type, contributing ideas, and helping others. I love a good joke, and I am generally light-hearted. If you have steam, sent me a request! My profile is Blues.
See you guys around!

Welcome Potato and Maj!
Itās awesome to see so many new faces here! The forums have been pretty quiet for so long itās almost too much. For the first time Iām not able to read all the threads
Thank you guys for helping make IB possible!
Hi, been playing space sims for sometime now but searching for something truly immersive. Looking forward to Battlescape and crashing into everyone - not because Iām a griefer but because I am a crappy pilot. You have been warned.
