I just went through that post and it’s really not something that many Star Citizen fans are going to bother with. Well, I wouldn’t. It’s a big marketing/advertising wall of text and pictures that has been created for Battlescape supporters and followers, yet it’s being plunked right in the middle of somebody else’s discussion forums. What is needed is a bit of work on your part to package up the information on Battlescape such that it catches the eye of Star Citizen fans (or, perhaps, detractors).
When there’s a Star Citizen discussion about planet sizes, drop in a comment that Battlescape is doing full scale planets and, by the way, here are two shots (not twenty) of what they look like. When there’s a discussion about lots of ships in one fight, you again show up, talk about how great it would be to do that, and then put in two screen shots of a big ship fight. Perhaps link to ONE video.
Mindlessly dumping verbatim posts from another project is just going to be ignored by players because they’re already tuned to ignoring anything that looks like it’s a company update - unless it’s a company that they’re following. In short, your post looks like one long advertisement for Battlescape. I know that I automatically ignore such things.
If somebody wants to follow Battlescape, INS has a site devoted to that. What you need to do is dangle a hook in front of people so that they will visit this site and see what’s going on here. You post only enough content that people will spend 0.3 milliseconds to glance at the information and possibly, just possibly, take the 20 seconds or so to click on a link and see where it leads.
You’re still going to be spotted instantly as That Guy, but it’ll be a bit more organic than dumping the Battlescape brochures in a pile in a corner of the room.
I’d definitely lose the “Infinity the Quest for Earth” part of that post. There’s no such thing.
