I agree that they are two seperate entities. I am currently studying art and will be studying fine art at Uni for the next 3 years - so obviously I have a major preference toward āTraditional Artā. I find the trouble with digital art is, most commonly - that quality is either terrible or very good. I find that concept art becomes very monotonous however. They are different things though, as has been said, in general digital art is made for the industry for people. Traditional art is made for yourself, from your own ideas and beliefs. Canāt stress how different they are.

As someone who does does both digital and traditional art, I can very much assure you that itās the same. Different technique, same goal. Saying that itās not is like saying that killing with a sword is not the same as killing with a gun. One might be a bit harder, but the one on the receiving end is still dead. If you think that physical things have more of a value because you can hold them in your hands, opposed to something digital (which you can also hold in your hand, but you have no way of interpreting it) thatās your thing. It has nothing to do with art in general. If something looks pleasing or has a good meaning I hardly care if itās digital or not. 
Also, digital can make you smell the paint the same way the photo of a painting can. It just has to be made that way.

", I presume you create digital and traditional art for the sake of art and not the sake of, say concept art? I agree that art āartā can be made very similarly to traditional art and they can both have the same purposes, but in general my view is that digital art is primarily used for fan art, concept art and other business orientated ideas. Whereas traditional art in general is purely made for pleasure and for the sake of art. Regardless my previous post was poorly structured.

So I-Novae should use traditional art on occasion or not?
I see no reason for them to do so, in fantasy worlds - worlds revolving around some sort of predefined history and culture then fine art might be perfect to be made alongside the game or to be used as concept art. However I feel that digital art would be best as itās easier to get that modern, futuristic feel through digital** art that maybe Infinity would be more suited too.

What do you think about emulating science fiction created in the early 20th century? Do you think itād be suitable to use art techniques innovated during that time to develop various pieces for the fiction, whether they may be core elements or auxilary components of the fiction? Iād find it pleasing; to be honest I just enjoy the way ātraditional artā usually turns out. I think it looks better.
Being an art student yourself does not help me become more tolerant when you want to flail contradictive statements around without addressing the discussion.
