Star Wars news and discussion

OMG, did we forget “May the 4th be with you!”.

Yes, that is an official NASA photo.

They also watched Star Wars on board the ISS.

I still think that the original Knights Of The Old Republic is one of the best games ever made… (Must look ugly as hell today though.)

Nah…

Still okay, I think. Sure, it’s old, but the art is still great. Shadows are missing in this shot, they help with the depth perception. A remake would be awesome though…

A remake or a sequel would be wonderful, that game had so much content, depth, a good story, “branching” story-line and it was even a partial sandbox. Not to mention, Pazaak.

I heard they tried to remake it. Some little MMO called “The Old Republic”? I don’t think it will amount to much.

(In case it’s not obvious, I have a very strong soft spot for the original KotOR, but could not get into the MMO at all.)

The only reason you can call that new MMO a “remake” is the name.

I played it for a few months, it was alright, a typical WOW clone, with really high production values, it’s gone F2P iirc.

Nooooo, Carrie Fisher! 60 years old is nothing, so sad. May the Force be with you!

Looks like Episode 8 will be her last screen appearance.

She is survived by her mother… 60 is too young.

Yeah that’s got to be one of the saddest things that can happen. A real shame!

Man I was hoping she would at least be able to recover for a while longer. I guess it was more severe than I thought

It’s going to be really sad to see her in the next movie. AFAIK they’ve already done principal photography for it.

Given that her mother said she had stabilised a couple days ago I can only imagine she had a second heart attack or something like that.

Technically stabilized means that her condition wasn’t getting worse, not that it got better. One theory (!) I read on reddit was that due to not breathing for ~10 minutes, she was effectively brain dead but alive. As long as the body keeps “working” I guess that counts as stabilized.

In any case seeing her one last time in the next Star Wars movie will sad, yes.

It’s not uncommon for people who suffered circulatory standstill to die later from organ failure. That’s why CPR is so important. The paramedics may bring you back but they can’t fix the damaged that happened until they got there.

Anyway. It is a natural death, even if for todays standards most people survive such heart attacks.

I wish everyone who held her close a possitive mourning time.
