What style of warp drive are you using?
Just how excited are you to bring forth your vision after all these years?

Non sequitur. Why you would ask Flavien and or Keith that makes no sense.
Unsure if this has been asked yet:
Do you have plans for an MMO in the future after the successful release of battlescape?
I know this question isnāt really poised towards us, but itās more to get the public dreaming of an MMO based on this engine who havenāt seen or heard of the engine before. I know this convo was going on somewhere(I donāt remember which thread at the moment), but I do think it would be beneficial to let everyone know that there are grander plans than just 1 solar system.
Molyneuxās comments on software development were laughable. They are the sorts of things that Iād hear from a new hire at a software company. I suspect his business acumen was about as sophisticated. The guy may be a great game designer, but heās badly in need of direction from capable management.
One thing that I-Novae Studios has done exactly right is to build the engine to a functional level before attempting to Kickstart their first product. Given the engine, they should know how much work is ahead of them. They should know how theyāre going to build each and every feature of the product. Certainly they should know their feature list.
I would love to hear the teamās responses to these questions:
How much of Infinity:Battlescapeās feature set has been functionally specified?
How stable has that feature set been over the past two months?
How much of the feature setās implementation has been designed?
How many new techniques or skills will the team have to acquire before the end of the project?
Molyneux is a visionary, has always been, not a software engineer, manager or marketeerā¦
One may argue that Da Vinci was also a great visionary ā¦ and yet he is not known foremost for his schematics on tanks or personnal airplane prototypes, but for his magnificient paintings and architecture.
For what I understand, the interviewer (and most backers I guess) blame Molyneux for not delivering physical goodies after the end of his Kickstarter has gone a few years old ; and still waiting.
Da Vinci was also, among other things, a great engineer, in addition to those clock-punk prototypes.
We simply remember his paintings and architecture better because those are the kind of stuff that resist better to time than, say, canal systems or new arquebuses, as attention-getter.
While Da Vinci was kind of unstable (and had a tendency of going away before delivering - then getting someone else sponsor his continued work - then doing it again), comparing him to Molyneux seems a bit strange.
Visionary doesnāt mean unskilled or skilled by nature. In Da Vinchiās case just like @ThornEel stated, he was also a great engineer. In other words, he made his visions come to life with or without the help of others.
Q: How long do you expect to be developing Infinity Battlescape for?
Q: After finishing Battlescape do you plan to start a new KS for the persistent universe game or are you hoping to generate enough income from BCS to get straight into the next project?
Q: If people miss out on the Kickstarter, will you be opening up purchases on steam early access or similar?
What kind of hardware do you expect will be needed to make the game run decently (e.g. lag-free), compared to now and to the time the game is available?
Will there be weapon types other than missiles, guns, and lasers? If so what will they be?
Will kamikaze be a viable tactic? If weāre using seamless transitions to warp, how will relativistic speeds factor into this?
Will there be strategic level weapons (i.e. deathstar beams, asteroids, nukes, etc)
Will there be environmental effects? (i.e. Solar flares, gravity distortions, planetary/solar storms)
How will resource management work at the highest stretch goal? (i.e. whatās the ideal resource system)
Who are the groups fighting in the conflict and what is it about? What are the goals and objectives of each side of the conflict?
NPCs. Will there be any? If so, what purpose will they serve?
Navigation. Space is big. What tools will we have to get around the system with, and how will they be presented to us?
Will there be ship subsystem management? Will ships have fuel levels or generators?
What will squad management look like? How many players can be in a squad at once? How are visual orders given by the leaders.
Will there be multi-crewed ships? Will there be playable non-combat ships? (i.e. scout, hauler, salvager, etcā¦)
If landing ships is in the game (inferred from pictures), will we be able to latch onto other ships and tow them around?
If the marketplace is still in and if funding levels for modding support are achieved, do you intend to let modders sell their assets. If so, how will you deal with things like with what recently happened with Steam? Will there be curated and non-curated assets?
Space emotes? /shrug
A simple question that might put a human face on INS if you answer it.
What are your thoughts on the past, present and future of INS community?
On what servers will you run I:B?
Will there be built in voice chat ala Eve Voice, etc.
Some good questions.
And for the levity, How big will the space wales be?
Iām surprised a space whale inspiration thread hasnāt been posted yetā¦ like finding all the existing concepts for space mammals and keeping them in one placeā¦ hmm.
Hah, I understood that reference.
