1. is there a way to change the default control scheme. i like to stay in direct and sometimes i load in and forget it’s not in Direct.

2. is there a way to bind the view controls to my joystick hat so that i don’t have to hold down control to look around?

Not currently, no. It should remember your setting for each ship per session though, if I remember correctly.

Yes. Bind them to “SetViewYaw” and “SetViewPitch”.
