Launcher Crash after clicking on PLAY

I dont use a Steam launcher, I use the launcher from the page.
When click on play it starts trying to load the gage but it says:
“Ooops, It looks like the application crashed”

Can you send or PM your log files ( .txt and .dmp ) ? They should be in C:\Users\XXX\Documents\I-Novae Studios\Infinity Battlescape\Logs ? Thanks.

Now I cant even reinstall the game.
On the screenshot you can see what the game says now when I try to reinstall, and you can see the log
from the previous crash on the background…

Hmm that’s very odd, I assume you were trying to uninstall the launcher? Can you zip up your installation logs in %temp% and email them to contact at inovaestudios.com? You may need to remove it manually, instructions for doing so are here, however you need to remove product 1, and possibly 0, instead of product 2.

Now that has solved the 2nd prob, now I can reinstall the game, but it crashes on the launch again.

Make sure your video card driver is fully update to date.

Also we need the dump file (.dmp) in the same location than the logs. Please send them all to contact (at) inovaestudios (dot) com, thank you.

My drivers have been updated and the problem persists.

I created my account using Facebook,and Ive sent the files using the mail I used to create my Fb account, but I still dont have an answer.
I think they just received a mail but they dont know if its from someone who bought the game.
The thing is that they just ignored it.
I have been playing the game with no prob until the day it was released in Steam, then I had the launcher crash.

If you’re the person I’m thinking of, the problem is that your logs/dumps were useless. Not saying it’s your fault, just that it didn’t help to identify the problem. Logs and dumps are supposed to write stack / calls / crash location information, but for some reason this information isn’t present in them. The log says “Cannot initialize the symbol library”, and that happens when we’re trying to initialize the windows library “Dbghelp.dll”. We have no information about why it fails to initialize, and you’re the only person we’ve seen having this problem, so basically we have no way to fix the issue until we learn more about it.

One random thought: can you try deleting the entire C:\Users\XXX\Documents\I-Novae Studios\Infinity Battlescape folder ? Maybe there are some corrupted settings that prevent you from launching the game ?

Also I’ve added more debug information to the executable for next thursday’s patch, so if you still have the problem, try again in a few days and send us the logs again by email, that should get us one step closer to figuring out what your problem is, thank you and sorry for all that trouble.

After checking more carefully, I can confirm at 99% that your settings file got corrupted with invalid values, and that deleting it and restarting the game should work ( uninstalling the game does not delete the user settings file, which explains why reinstalling didn’t help for you ). Let me know if that worked.

Ive deleted every single file related to the game, redownloaded and reinstalled the game again.
I had already done before it but it worked this time.
Maybe I did something wrong the previous time.
