Hello Everyone ! Long time absent in the forums… still come time to time to see the progress.
Anyway Just curious on how much AI are you applying on the daily basis and your thoughts on it? Is it helpful? Does it help to save work on repetitive pattern functions?
Have it solved any real issues on the game?
Any stories on it would be amazing.
Take care everyone !

Hey Juan, nice to see you again, hope you’re doing well !
In terms of programming, AI hasn’t done much for the game, if anything at all. Every time I’ve tried to use it, the results were disapointing. Every once in a while (= a few months) I use it on well separated problems / algorithms, just to see if it can come up with different ideas or a different approach than the one I’d naturally use. I never use it directly on our code base as I don’t want anything to “pollute” it.
In terms of game content, we’ve used it occasionally. Examples include speech generation for voice overs (mostly the tutorials), which we hope to replace at some point with real voice actors (I’m not sure if we can afford it before the 1.0 launch though). We have a few 2D portraits that we’ve retouched. We also used text generation in specific areas, heavily reworked afterwords (ex.: tutorials descriptions, strings translation). Overall I’d say that’s less than 1% of the game’s content.
See ya,

Hey Flavien ! All is good. Busy with life and work as everyone else…
Thats surprising, I have being using it myself a lot in a personal project (restaurant management) and its done wonders, of course this is not as complicated as a procedural game engine with heavy math involved.
What solutions have you tried so far?
Hope you are doing well too…
