The game will very likely be on Steam. The release prices aren’t fixed yet. They won’t be AAA fullprice game price that’s for sure. Also, no supscription will be required. Once you buy the released game you can play as much as you like.

Iirc, the $40 dollar tag was thrown around as a consideration. Not set in stone, though.
