Now that´s nice. To quote hrobertson a bit: “That’s what a shiny Gif does for you.”

Some gameplay footage
I think I’m sold on this. Their Kickstarter helpfully pointed out that I’m not playing enough non-serious space games, and should rectify that
So basically what you’re saying is “use youtube instead”?
I mean if you want a heavily compressed series of images…
That’s true, but gifs are short and sweet to get the point across without having to click on a video.
Autoplay GIFs have their own problems. I have to watch them multiple times just to figure out where the beginning is. They have no audio. They cannot be paused. They don’t scale for those who have the bandwidth and/or screen real estate. They turn a page into a nightmare if there are many of them. They leave out everything that YouTube brings to a video, such as descriptions, comments, publish dates, channel videos and so on.
Yet they are very appropriate in some situations when used right.
There is also this new thing called WEBM.
Solves some of the problems JB called out but still allows all of them.
Looks like your assumption wasn’t that accurate. Though procedural generation does in the end always just amount to more of the same anyway.
Ah yes. I wonder where I got that from.
Anyway, as you allude to, it does just look like a different back-drop each time.
Well, I caved in and backed it anyway. It looks interesting enough for me to want it, and it fills that more arcade-y space shooter niche that hasn’t really had anything good in it since Darkstar One.
Well 8 days to go on the kickstarter and it has reached the minimum goal. Question now is: In what way is everspace’s kickstarter representative for the battlescape ks?
iirc the minimum funding goal for battlescape that was floating around was set at 500k USD (~445414€). Currently, everspace is at ~280k, however, it seems that the amount of pledges per time are currently climbing,
Entering Alpha soon. This looks visually amazing and reminds me a lot of Freelancer.
that was arcade with great graphics
Yup. Looking forward to this. It’s the other side of my space genre gaming that needs some much needed scratching.
