I want to unistall the current game and make a fresh install. Sadly when I try it (via control panel) I get this:

Hmm that’s odd, you haven’t messed with the installation registry in any way?
yeah I lost a HD. So the game its not there anymore.
When I try to install via launcher I get a repair button but when I click the process gets the following error.

You might have to manually look for any folders relating to Battlescape or I-Novae and delete them. Make sure you also look for hidden folders (check your View Hidden option), and delete everything you can find related to the game from your Program Files, Documents, and temporary locations.
Then start again and download?
Yeah, due to the loss of your HDD it appears your installation was corrupted and you will have to manually restore it. You can do this by doing the following:
Delete your current I:B installation, by default this is: C:\Program Files\I-Novae Studios\Battlescape
Delete the I:B installation registry at C:\Program Files\INovaeInstallerRegistry\Products\2
Rerun the launcher and reinstall the game

I had this same problem, there’s also install information stored in the registry that blocks a fresh install from happening even with all the files cleared out.
the solution is to
Back your registry before you make any changes to prevent damage. Especially do this if you’re not used to registry editing.
do a search (ctrl-F) inside regedit for anything with “novae” in the key name (not the key values, ignore the ones with novae in key values)
This will take awhile but go through and clear them out so that the installer things it’s a fresh install.

the unistaller should be robust. I am a supporter of this game since many years now (I even contributed when there was a contrbution system in the old forums and old game plans), I cant install the game now. What should I do ?

Can you post another log file ? Is it still showing the same error ?
Make sure C:\Program Files\INovaeInstallerRegistry\ was properly deleted. This folder is hidden by default.
Does it work if you install the game on C: instead of F: ?
