And now I’ve just spent the last 20 minutes watching stuff be heated by nickel balls…
I do love his vids though.

Weird Al as Isaac Newton just broke my brain into a million happy pieces.
Indeed.
But alas, being as awesome he may be otherwise I now pretty much boycott Mr Tyson.7
Well, I had begun to write why, but knowing it probably won’t make you a better person, only a more cynical, jaded one, living in a slightly less awesome world so it’s a bit against the current there.
Here’s some Future! instead :
Now I want to see SF with the Mech’ equivalent of that.
No Atomic Rockets link yet?
That’s actually surprising.
Basically, if you are interested in hard-SF, be it as an author or a fan, this website is a goldmine of informations, technical details and interesting musings. Don’t pay attention to the old-fashioned design, it is not a recent site. It is still actively maintained and completed by its author, even if he says he has quite the backlog.
The author, a certain Winchell D. Chung jr., is himself a hard-SF fan who decided to regroup all that information in one place so it could be of help for improving hard-SF and anyone involved in it.
In fact, a short story I wrote is directly inspired by something I found there. That, one day, I’ll polish, translate in English and throw into the Web. At some point. Maybe.
Anyway, it should be recommended to read it before attempting any SF writings (space fantasy like Star Wars or Gurren Lagann may be exempted.)
Until about a year ago, there was also an Atomic Rockets blog, which mostly republished interesting articles from other news sites or blogs about whatever may interest a hard-SF fan, and the occasional update on the Atomic Rocket website.
It closed, however Winchell Chung has a twitter account fulfilling the same role, at the difference that you have to click on the links instead of reading them all in one place.
Even if you do not use Twitter, I still recommend it. In fact, it is one of the three Twitter accounts that I check regularly, the other two being Keith’s and Flavien’s. I recommend checking it at least several times a week, though, as links can pile up fast. Lots of interesting things are happening, after all.
While we are at it, I will recommend the blog Rocketpunk Manifesto for many interesting stuff about hard-SF. It is no coincidence that it is cited several times on Atomic Rocket. While its publication rhythm has slowed down of late, it is because there are already many, many thing talked about.
YouTube Complaints 2014!
Is porn allowed?
In private chat … wink wink
How about no?
You have any idea of how hard it was to find video pr0n before the Internet?
I would say that is a clear awesomes of the Internet.
CRAP!!! Were is the link!?! A B+ for being original (there is a 2013) and a B- for humor. To try again…

Here is a potentially good game:
It claims:
It’s F2P, but it is in alpha.
I haven’t tried it yet, so if anybody does let us know how it is!
As this is originally a videogame forum, this is relevant :
This is a weekly show that talks about videogame, mostly (but not only) from a design perspective, and done by actual experienced game makers. If you are interested videogames in general, this may very well interest you. If you are interested in making games, you should really watch it.
While one may not agree with everything (I’m still unconvinced by “perfect imbalance” as a good design), it will always be well-argued and stir reflection.
Recently, they also put new, less regular shows : game recommendations, game music remix presentations and analysis of a game first level.
Interestingly, as it exists for years, in many discussions about game design you will find one relevant video.

Finally some recognition! Only, job #1 wasn’t so much “unusual” as it was awesometacular.

Not sure if this qualifies, but here it is:
Some sweet tunes by Zircon. Find him on soundcloud. His style is what he calls Organic Electronic, and he has remixed a lot of old video game themes as well.
EDIT: Cool, forum integrates soundcloud into the post.
Nice track list! Thanks.
Definetly will check some more of his stuff out.
