It appears that the system mechanics useful to the wolves are the desperate actions. The desperate actions are publicly disclosed if used.
=>Wolves probably won’t use the desperate actions, systems are of dubious usefulness to them. If they use the desperate action they’ll be immediately killed… Unless it’s a 5-person killing spree a-la last game. So, we should keep the gun systems controlled by large groups.
A system like crew quarters can provide invaluable information on the activities of the wolves but is useless if the wolves know who’s being scanned.
=>To maximize effectiveness of these systems, the wolves must not know how they’re being used. The only way to ensure that there are systems under exclusive human control is to assign only one person to them.
Summary: Crew quarters, SONAR, RADAR, and CIC should have only one person on them. Weapon locker, AAA, and possibly the helicopter hangar might have desperate actions that kill people/endanger the ship so should have several people. Medical bay is up in the air since it’s probably a body scan and doesn’t really benefit from secrecy.
Fine, I’ll vote for The_Sane based on his reluctance to submit to random distribution in any form. Long live RNG!
The list that “Confirmed” Lysk only returned the names of everyone in Crew Quarters because we repaired the same system as him last night. If I’m understanding the CQ functions correctly, that doesn’t necessarily guarantee he’s a loyalist.
I’d also like to be back in Crew Quarters. I think I can put the system to good use and no one else has claimed it.
Today’s lynch is a hard one. Everything just seems to read a squabbling. I have suspicions, but there isn’t nearly enough info to make a real decision right now. I feel like it is irresponsible to vote blindly, and yet it is even more so not to vote. By my count there is currently a 2/2/2 tie between The Sane, Lysk, and Matt. All three very are very skilled players and that scares me. Anyone of them could be an excellent wolf, in fact, we already know how deadly of a wolf Matt is. Deciding to break a tie on anyone of them is a tough choice to be sure. Right now there’s just no real way to know, but I’ve decided to choose the devil I know, in more than one way.
Mattk50
The day is over
The argument between the crew went back and forth all day; seemingly unending debate reaching no solid conclusions about what should be repaired, who should repair it or who the remaining traitorous crew were was shouted over the deafening noise of the engine room.
Sentiment towards lieutenant Trevise, temporarily in command on the situation, began to sour. After all who better to mislead the crew after an act of sabotage than a ranking officer? As the sky turned red, and the angry crew began to throw murderous looks at Trevise he made an impassioned plea to the crew: after the captain had been killed who else but him had done more work to uncover the traitors? Loyal members of the crew nodded in agreement and began to form into a gang around seaman Mattk50…
Before Mattk50 could defend himself the gang had tied up in a lifeboat, drifting away from the Black Swan into the night seas. The ropes were so tight he could barely turn his head but out of the corner of his eye he could just make out a timer, slowly counting down, wired into the detonation circuits of a torpedo!
Mattk50 has been lynched

It was early morning, although Lomsor could barely tell through the clouds. He clenched onto a railing for dear life as he crawled along the deck and was attacked by the wind and rain. He cowered down into a corner as a wave engulfed the ship. Towards the front of the ship a crane had broken loose in the night and he had pulled the short straw of the morning shift to go out into the storm and and secure it
Eventually he stumbled forward to the crane and was so shocked by what he saw that he was nearly swept overboard by the next wave. Tied to the end of the crane arm was King_Cosmos, as the arm swung around wildly in the storm his body was bashed into various bits of the hull. On closer inspection Lomsor noticed that some of the ropes were loose, clearly King_Cosmos had somehow survived for a large part of the night - slowly being battered to death as he struggled to escape his bindings.
Just as Lomsor finished reporting his findings to the horrified bridge crew a damage control crew called in over the radio: hostile air forces had successfully hit the ship and damaged the magnetohydrodynamic propulsion system. Additionally with no one operating the system the Crew Quarters had been damaged by the storm
It Is Now Day 3
King_Cosmos has been murdered
Propulsion has been damaged
System Status
Weapons Locker - Damaged
Propulsion - Damaged
Generator
SONAR
RADAR - Damaged
Combat Information Center (CIC)
Anti Air Artillery (AAA)
Medical Bay
Crew Quarters
Helicopter Hangar - Damaged
Inactive Warning
@JackBootedThug @TerranAmbass Will both be killed tonight if they are not active today!
Again not a good morning.
Here is the med bay report:
Matt was not a traitor
We can do two more dissections. We can only dissect who dies the day before.
Critical: We can kill someone, this will damage the med bay
I can confirm what Nos_Fi said. I’m going right back to Propulsion, I like it there, it is nice and warm.
So Matt was human. This instantly makes everyone who voted for him suspicious…
The only two actions of AAA are to either shoot down hostile targets or friendly targets. Shooting down hostiles halves the chance of air attack. The effect of shooting down friendlies wasn’t specifically stated but after asking for a clarification martin hinted that it would be a counter to the helicopter if its being used.
No desperate measure and no critical fail.
As you could already guess, having an active Sonar decreases the chance of submarine attacks. The desperate measure would be to remove the chance of submarine attacks for one turn, however the next day there would be a guaranteed attack and you damage the sonar array. Which makes me think of an interesting way to use it.
The Generator allows us to disable a system for one night, or in desperation allows us to disable every system.
We used it last night to disable the CIC, as Enginish refused to disclose its role to us.
Propulsion is a must.
I want to go and see what’s in the Helicopter Hangar
Also, Enginish is taking his time with his system reveal.
I’m gonna go with the Weapons Locker for now, unless there is a systems voting strategy.
just as a sidenote, my idea I was hinting at, was to constantly desperate measure the living shit out of the sonar and repair it after doing so. Not a good idea. It doesn’t block the guaranteed attack. As it also turned out, after you desp. measured the sonar, you have a chance of 2 sub attacks the next night.
Current system crews:
Generator - LyskTrevise, Topperfalkon
SONAR - dekaku, Arkenbrien
CIC - Enginish
AAA - The_Sane, Lomsor
Med Bay - cybercritic, xamino, Nos_Fi
I think this is accurate. For peace of mind it would be good to get @Arkenbrien to confirm what dekaku has told us of SONAR. @Lomsor should probably do the same for AAA.
And for the sake of detecting suspicious groupings here are the previous occupants (that aren’t confirmed human) of CQ and Propulsion:
Crew Quarters - cybercritic, Nos_Fi, LyskTrevise, Enginish
Propulsion - Lomsor, xamino, Topperfalkon, Arkenbrien, The_Sane
I’ll also point out that if both inactive’s are removed from the game that leaves 11 of us (10 after lynching) and there are currently 5 damaged systems.
Unfortunately I’ll continue to do so. CIC is a pretty nifty system, but it’s usefulness is lessened considerably if the wolves know what it does.
In any case… If this were an ordinary wolf game, I’d be under no obligation to hand over details of my secret role to the public thread, and for good reason.
A tidbit though: CIC has no desperate action, and is great insurance against wolf takeovers of other systems.
Gonna go man the Helicopter Bay. I’ll comment again once I’ve re-read the thread armed with knowledge of Matt’s alignment.
Weapons Locker
Only because we all know what happened last time we let cybercritic have a gun.
More to come soon, just dont have a good time to post yet.
Thanks for that summary.
So tonight’s wolf kill won’t give us any clues.
CQ was manned by one human and that was a threat they had to remove.
But it got me thinking about there night one kill.
In night one we had two repair groups.
One was big (7 persons i think) and repaired an unimportant system, the other was smaller (5 persons) and repaired a system that could have been dangerous for them.
If I were a wolf i would kill one that small group.
The humans then think the wolfs are trying to take the system over and that leads to lynchings and distrusting in the provided information’s.
They choose not to do that. My theory now is that they had two wolf in that system. Because of that a kill inside the small group would have backfired.
The CQ group had the following players in it:
LyskTrevise Enginish cybercritic Nos_Fi King_Cosmos.
- King_Cosmos has been killed by wolfs --> human
- I know that I am not a wolf
–> If my theory is right 2 out of the 3 remaining CQ members are Wolfs…
My guesses are LyskTrevise and Enginish because that’s what saved LyskTrevise yesterday:
Both true, but they both know that scanning LyskTrevise did NOT proof that he is human.
A wolf simply needs to skip his kill vote to avoid detection.
We only scanned him because we had NO target that would have revealed anything.
This was discussed in the CQ thread, they both knew that.
I can understand why Lysk didn’t mention it, nobody want’s to by lynched.
But Enginish backing it up and failing to mention it too. Suspicious…
I have to blame myself a bit for what happened to Mattk50. I didn’t vote and made it possible for them to turn the vote.
My main problem here is: “Daychange” is in the middle of the night were I live…
Kill Vote: Enginish
I can confirm dekaku’s description of the SONAR. It’s not a particularly powerful system, unless the wolves are somehow connected to the subs or subs can damage systems, both I’m guessing are likely scenarios. Subs might even be able to kill/maim humans.
