The Wolf Game - Murder Party - Day 5 - Infiltrators and Nafen win!

Lysk woke up from his sleep. He knew it was morning, but it didn’t look any different than when he had laid down. Living underground takes some getting used to. He turned on the light next to his cot, and got up, dressing, and walking out into the hall sleepily. His attention was caught by the commotion in Q Branch. No sooner had he started walking over towards the group, Arkenbrien’s head exploded and covered everyone with chunks of brain matter. Well, at least he was shielded from the worst of the giblets by the other staff members in front of him. He wiped a piece of white brain tissue off his brow with an annoyed look on his face. What a way to start the day. And you call these people secret agents? God help us all.

He wondered off into the meeting area and sat down, beginning to work on his phone, hacking into as many systems as he could. And exploit here, a phishing attempt there, a bit of social engineering… It was at some time during all of this, a rather fabulous police officer burst through the door with a whine, and immediately fainted. He stared, jaw open, in awe at the ridiculousness of the man. After a moment, he shook his head and continued, and before long he had what he was looking for.

He stood and announced to the room “Fellow… Ahem… Agents, as you were, as you are aware we have traitors in our midst. I’ve been doing some… Research… And I’ve concluded that someone yesterday was lying to us about their intentions here. It seems that all of us have received orders for our stay here… Except for the Special Envoy from America. In fact, he seems to have no orders what-so-ever. He was either sent here as punishment for his incompetence, or… More likely and more sinister… He is an infiltrator!” He pointed his finger directly at King Cosmos, with a serious face.

The entire room erupted in a flurry of arguments and accusation, and Lysk, somewhat bewildered, began to have to fight off accusations pointed at himself. Today was going to be chaotic.

Man, things got really busy and heated since my last appearance. Unfortunately I really have nothing new to add since I haven’t had the chance to do any info gathering behind the scenes. All I can really do is reiterate that I am in fact a roleless human. I have the alignment message for the humans and beyond that I swear I have no idea who the wolfs are. I really got nothing else for ya.

For now I’m going to have to cast a defensive vote for LyskTrevise and hope something else works out in my favor. However, IRL coming in to play, my boss made a sudden trip out of town (thus my lengthy disappearance yesterday) and I’m going to be working a lot more this week to cover. I’m sorry to say even if I somehow survive my time is going to be much more limited that I had once thought.

(#)Targets - Voters

(2)Lysk - BrickWall, Cosmos
(6)Cosmos - Lysk, Noble, Sane, Topper, Hollifer, Nafen
(1)Ovog - Lomsor

Heres the updated vote chart. I just got a notification that I’ve posted 20% of the replies to this topic so I might need to stop posting so much… lol

Why were you in contact with Ark? What about?

The Day Is Over

Yes, it’s one hour late. Timezones are hard.

From the moment the router exploded and somehow splattered brain matter all over the staff Lysk Trevise took charge of the situation. A few other agents were suspicious, pointing out that as an information operations officer his job was deception though manipulating information - how did they know he wasn’t just an infiltrator trying to get their American special envoy killed?

Ultimately, however, the crowd began to come around to Lysk’s point of view. Casting suspicious glances at the American officer. Demanding to know what special skills he had even though he claimed to be a vanilla spy with no stand out abilities.

The lights dimmed, indicating the end of the day phase in the bunker and that was the signal to act. Lysk tackled King_Cosmos and, with the assistance of Topperfalkon and Noblebrutus, dragged him to the training area at the back of the Q branch offices. They kicked down the first door they came to and tossed him into a tank full of hungry sharks.

@TerranAmbass you didn’t post anything today. This is your one and only inactivity warning before you are killed or replaced.

  • King_Cosmos has been lynched
  • King_Cosmos was The Defector
  • The night will be 24 hours long. If you have a night action please contact me as soon as possible

It is now Night 2

Martin can you clarify, we didn’t get alignment from today’s lynch?

The Defector is his alignment.

The lights in the base flickered on and the agents began to emerge from their quarters. Special agent Skyentist walked down the corridor towards the shooting range - after the tension of yesterday it had been decided there would be a casual tournament this morning before breakfast. He walked into the shooting range to see a few other people had arrived before him - NobleBrutus and hollifer stood by the gun cabinet, inspecting the rifles while Nafen stood in the corner looking unimpressed at all the cleaning up he was going have to do.

The competitors lined up and began warming up, shooting at wooden cutouts of past villains. As the fusillade stopped one of the cutouts fell over, revealing Support agent Megarith had been gagged and strapped to the back of it. During the warmup his body had been riddled with bullets…

  • TheBrickWall has been murdered by the infiltrators

It Is Now Day 3

Day will end in 44 hours

So… Last night was very eventful for me, as you may all be able to guess. I have some information that is going to be relevant for today, but I just want to start things off by saying that I had been in contact with BrickWall last night, and he seemed to have trusted me a lot more than yesterday. Well, make up your own minds:

I started things off by sending this message to him. I sent a very similar message to every player in the game:

So make of all of that as you will. I will post later about the rest of my developments last night once everyone checks in.

Did TheBrickWall trust anyone else with whatever he was going to tell Lysk? He seemed cautious of trusting anyone, so I’m not hopeful.

I didn’t have any contact with TheBrickWall. Wonder if some Infiltrator knew of “the thing Lysk could use …” … By how he played I guess not.
I don’t really have anything to add to his death though and with the current information I have, am not able to form any reasonable theory to why he was killed from the top of my head …

Also note that the third party wasn’t active last night … did we manage to get that third party? Did the Infiltrators manage to eliminate or decimate this third party? All stuff we don’t know and could be useful if we knew … maybe Lysk knows with his aggressive information gathering but I haven’t seen him share anything concerning that third party. I would go even as far as say that it was noticeable vacant from the discussion yesterday …

Moving on to the results of yesterdays lynch. I am very concerned about the result we got. We have no idea what Cosmos was. By the sound of his alignment he was the only one. I also think it is possible he himself didn’t know what he was … he might have been able to influence the game at a later stage. Stamping him off as a “troublemaker” sounds more like a way to silence one’s conscience.
What I’m trying to say is that I find it overly convenient for Cosmos to turn out to neither be staff nor infiltrator. I hope for everyone to not just take this as a quirk and move on as if we had Lynched an infiltrator yesterday, because we have not.

It’s quite possible, as per the above discussion, that we’ve accidentally lynched one of the more flexible roles, so yeah, yesterday sucked.

I don’t have anything much to add, except that Noble was asking particularly probing questions about the description of my role, and I’m wondering why.

I don’t really have much of anything to add at this point in time. BrickWall’s opposition to Lysk’s plan yesterday seemed suspicious to me, but with them being last night’s victim, I’m out of suspects.

The fact that Cosmos doesn’t seem to have been either a human or wolf is odd. Makes me wonder if he was the only one of that alignment, or if there are others.

If you’re talking about me. . . I forgot to post yesterday.

With his last, dying breath, Megarith utters a feint “Fuck…”.

I wasn’t talking about you in that quote. But yesterday I mentioned you. You may want to read up and answer on the questions I asked back then …

About 3rd parties…

I do not believe there is a third party at play. We have not so many players and in most respects this game seems to have taken us back to the roots of the game.

My belief is that ‘the defector’ was a sleeper role which could flip to become a wolf if a certain set of conditions are met. Therefore I believe Cosmos’ lynch was a win for us humans.

However we should not trust Lysk more than we already do since if he were a wolf he would have thought Cosmos human regardless of the sleeper role. So this lynch neither validates nor invalidates LyskTrevise.

This?

I had nothing to add to yesterday’s discussion, so like I’ve already said, I forgot to post entirely.

I don’t really have much of anything to say about yesterday that wasn’t already said by someone else then. I’ve already mentioned my thoughts on TheBrickWall. I thought Hollifer’s attempts to stall the lynch were odd; to me, they seemed like the actions of either an inexperienced human player or a clumsy wolf. And I agree that the poll was almost certainly manipulated.

I believe that if there WAS a third party, it was just a lone neutral player.

However, now that you bring this up noble: [quote=“NobleBrutus, post:267, topic:5314”]
My belief is that ‘the defector’ was a sleeper role

Perhaps it is time I let everyone know what I learned during the night.

So, yesterday some of you might have noticed that @Hollifer posted this, in violation of the edit rule it is now deleted I believe:

Last night I questioned her about her role, and she claimed to be immune to dying at night, without exception, and could “visit” other players to protect them. However, due to my paranoia with another player, I asked for her role name. She claims to be the “Seductress”. If any of you google “Mafia game Seductress” this is the first link youll find:

http://www.mafiauniverse.com/forums/database/mafia-roles/role/?mafiarole=Converter

On this wikipedia page it describes a role called the “Converter”, sometimes called a “Seductress”. This role is a wolf/Mafia role, and is used to convert other players to the wolf team.

Role Description:

The Converter is a mafia-aligned player with a 1-shot night ability to convert someone to the mafia team.

On night 1 Hollifer was locked up, and thus could not convert anyone. Last night, after learning this, I asked the Jailer to lock her up again to ensure she could not convert anyone else - namely, me as I was afraid with my status in the game people might trust me with confidential information, and potentially convert me. Yes, I am aware of the existence of a Jailer role. I wont say who it is.

Now, I’m not saying for SURE that Martin made the Seductress role the same as the wiki. In fact, it doesn’t seem like something he would do. However, I can’t ignore the possibility that such a dangerous role could potentially be in the hands of a wolf.

I’m a bit embarrassed to say that despite freaking out and stressing hardcore last night, I did not even consider Noble’s idea. I’m glad he got it into the open. It is possible that Hollifer’s role could ONLY be used on the Defector. I have no idea.

Either way, its fishy as hell.

What do you all think? @NobleBrutus @Lomsor And I’d especially I’d like to hear from @TerranAmbass about yesterday and today. I see he says he doesn’t really have much else to contribute, but thats a total lie. Come on man. What did you think of Cosmos’ argument? What did you make of BrickWall’s arguments about the roles? Why do you think the poll was manipulated? What do you think of Hollifer now that I’ve revealed this information? We need as much info as you can provide us, so we can determine whether you are a wolf or a human. If you don’t provide this information, I guess well have to assume youre intentionally not posting much in order to deprive us of that information…

I don’t know if anyone should trust me 100%. I was hoping Cosmos would have been a wolf, and we could start forming an alliance last night, but that didn’t pan out. You’ll have to make up your own minds about me based on the way I’ve been posting so far throughout the game.
