Maybe you changed your input profile in the launcher dialog ? It could happen for example if you played with a joystick, so you selected a joystick profile previously… then when you tried again later on, you had the joystick plugged out but you still ran the game with the joystick profile, instead of switching back to a keyboard+mouse profile.
Another possibility is that the window does not have focus. Could happen by accident if you al-tabbed while it was loading, but when it asked for a key to continue, forgot to move back the mouse and left-click to the focus the window. In this case, all inputs would get ignored until the game window has the focus back.
When I select the AZERTY I can get into game.
QWERTY I cannot get past the ‘press to continue’
my keyboard is QWERTY.
NB: the mouse does not work past the screen in QWERTY mode also.
Can you post a screenshot if your launcher dialog ?
When you select the Qwerty profile and click “Edit key bindings”, do you see most events have a primary key assigned to them ( ex.: AutoAssist = space ) ?
Do you have Qwerty.xml located in C:\Users\YourName\Documents\I-Novae Studios\Infinity Battlescape\Profiles ?
If you have joysticks, can you plug them out and try again ?
= present, on my D drive

= no i set to clear all at one point
If you have joysticks, can you plug them out and try again ?
= I reconnect my joysticks, directly to pc rather than via montior. behavior is more
reset to defaults, not nothing. ie no keyboard actions listed in primary key column
Yup that’s your issue, “clear all” deleted all entries and you saved the file, so now no keys are doing anything.
I’d suggest to simply delete the Qwerty.xml file in your user profiles directory. The game data folder has a backup, it’ll recopy it automatically and everything should work again.
the real issue here i think is restore defaults does not work?
It’s more an a misnaming. It restores the file to what it was before you opened the input editor. If you cleared all, then saved; then opening it again and clicking “restore” will only restore everything to blank. But yeah, restoring to the original file is probably better. The restore button is more like a “cancel changes” button.
