APIs aren’t bound to a certain programming language. Given the right api you can ‘easily’ let programs written in two different languages communicate with each other.
Unity uses C#, a bastardized version of javascript, and a bastardized version of python, and they all work together.

Yup, I got mine back. Keith simply deactivated my @xamino1 account and reactivated this one. See here.
I don’t have an issue with my account, the original was locked because of the password bug, then deleted, then I made a new one to reserve the name. Anyway all my posts are on this account, only thing that would be nice is to have my join date from the original account transferred to this one.

I saw some Infinity news coming up recently and couldn’t believe they were releasing something that looked like a game 
I think i joined in 2009 when people were still playing the 2008 combat prototype and I used to post in the old forums for a few years, then lost interest as the project seemed to go nowhere, and forum activity was decreasing. I certainly was not “well known” or very active, I was mostly gawking at the cool ships.
I’m mostly curious about few things though : were the content of the old forums archived somewhere ? I also wondered what happened to all the ships contributed by everyone ? More importantly is inovae still putting some of those assets to use (the SFC especially were usually well made and i think i recognize some designs in the screenshots but cannot say for sure). .
It’s funny though i remember many names in that list (SPECTRE, Angrymarine, Kichae, etc.) even though I was never that much involved.
Unfortunately, the old forums were hacked and I believe all/nearly all of the content was lost. All of the current in-game assets are unique in that to avoid legal fees, iNovae simply created all new assets.

Old site was hacked yes. The devs still have access to the old forums content though for internal use.
Some of the old ships have been used in either the KS trailer or the prototype. The Armormite for instance. But just very few due to the shift in quality requirement and the problematic legal situation with community built ships.

Not only was the old site hacked, but the source code for the engine was on that hacked server. It was probably an automated spam bot hack though, searching the Internet for well know vulnerabilities as it appears the code was not stolen. Prior to the hack the site has probably not been updated in years.
So what team color should The Old Guard subscribe to?

Replying 2 years late, as I had never checked that thread before. But… no, the source code wasn’t hosted on the website, so it was never hacked.
As for the website, there was 2 sensitive issues:

The public ftp. The password was public if you remember, so some strangers used it to upload html files ( or replacing the gallery ones some contributors had made, injecting trojans in it ).

When the website was designed, the website used Joomla and the forums system wasn’t officially supported, so an hybrid ( with a bridge ) was added. Every time Joomla was patched, the bridge had to be re-applied. At some point Joomla switched by a major version up and everything broke, so instead of redoing (again) the entire website, it was decided to keep the site on the old Joomla version. That made it pretty easy to get hacked a few years later.
