I’m pretty sure the link @Argopeilacos gave us contains the answer:

Since the Alpha is estimated around October 2016, that leaves something like 11 months to upgrade your pledge. Not counting that dev access is probably nothing sooner than January, which leaves one or two months extra if you really want to participate in early dev access.

Oh, and there was no conflict, merely a small misunderstanding :wink:

When Alpha access starts, I imagine.

Actually, maybe less stable builds could be accessible to the dev access backers between alpha access builds.
