I can’t wait to see pics, video uploads, livestreams of dev access players and devs.
I just hope that all discussions won’t be hidden in dev access forums from other lower tier supporters.
I look forward to topping up my pledge via the website when its all in place, I assume later this year.
Maybe put this post out to the mailing list?
It was put out to the mailing list.
The position is not the same as the web developer position. It will be a full-time paid position for someone who is ideally capable of engine, tools, networking, and gameplay programming. As for the recruitment process there are many different options. Posting on boards, recruiters, conferences, hitting up former coworkers, etc. I’m expecting it’s going to be a lot of work to find the right person.
That is a pretty broad spectrum of skills that you require for your new coder, you are either going for someone somewhat green that has made their own games and fiddled with everything or a industry veteran with some 20 years experience that you probably can’t afford. Which one is your target?
Whichever of the 2 we find first that is willing to work at below market value (near-term) to help build a company and create something truly amazing.
Good answer as always.
I didn’t think to ask but where is the Battlescape server going to be located. I’m wondering what kind of PING I’m going to get.
I’ll be happy if it’s west coast US. I have notoriously bad experiences with European and even eastern US servers.
Keith said that there will initially be one server in the US and one in Europe.
I was looking for where he said it, but couldn’t find it.
Initially during development we will probably only have a single server. The exact quantity and location of servers for retail will probably be determined by Beta testing.
