Hutching’s Imgur should really link to the Kickstarter at the top of it.
I know you’re busy but… @Hutchings?
A link at the top or in the description maybe?
Edit: I know you put it in the comments but not everyone reads them all.
ok, I edited the album description, a lot of people have been asking for it
I just contacted /r/gaming about doing an AMA, hopefully they get back to us soon.
Back to the first page of r/all. Sitting at #52 on Front.
Great to hear.
Why not /r/IAMA though? You will reach more people that might not be on /r/gaming and especially if it doesn’t reach the front page.
/r/IAMA is designed for promotions and people there can often be really charitable.
On there, you have to schedule one with the mods, IIRC.
You want to schedule it around 10-12AM because that’s the peak time when Americans are waking up and there to see it during lunch/work, and has a higher chance of success.
And you probably want to schedule it either ASAP, or 5-7 days before the Kickstarter ends for a bigger push to reach stretch goals.
the imgur gallery that it links to is getting a lot of traffic!
It’s hit +180k views total since taking this screenshot.
Yeah. It really needs the kickstarter link at the top of it, someone tell Hutchings… oh wait.
It’s already there in the description
Yeah but most people that see this stuff aren’t super smart. You have to make it as easy as possible.
It’s there in a comment at the very bottom, and there is a SCREENSHOT of the Kickstarter, but there isn’t a link there in the captions/titles.
Unless I missed it? See about people being dumb?
The description is there at the bottom of all the pictures. It’s where you’d logically put any links(Since the title doesn’t support enough characters). If you finish looking at the shiny pictures you will see the links. Maybe refresh the page if you haven’t recently?
Yeah there is one at the bottom, but people are still going to miss it. Would it hurt to say “we just launched our kickstarter (link)” up in the opening?
Others missed it and were saying to upvote the comment with the link instead. It’s easy to get to the end of the pictures and be as oblivious as I and miss it.
That’s what marketing and promoting largely is.
Is it just me or is the post really currently at the reddit frontpage at position 24?
EDIT:
Its just me, I was logged in. Its "only "on page 2.
That was before he put the links in the description. It was only within the last hour that it was edited in. It should be fine now.
I just checked at it was at 51? Has it really jumped that fast?
It’s 29 for me. On the second page of /r/all.
Does anyone know how the positions are calculated? It just seems strange that for the number of up votes and comments we haven’t really moved. At least for /r/all.
Oh wow, more than 3k upvotes now, totally missed that since I was busy playing.
This game is so awesome, its so cool to just fly around and look at the landscape, the graphics are out of this world!
A big thanks again to the devs for allowing me and Playbenni to play the prototype!
Here are some screenshots I made (I hope thats okay with the devs):

I’m looking foward spending more time with the prototype. So far I only played it in 1080p but it seems to support 4k aswell (I have a 4k screen).
Another thing: I only have 4gb system ram (not the minimum 8gb) but it runs flawlessly!
@Tyronaught As far as i can tell new votes will push it up but this effect decays over time, which makes sense.
Yes. The speed at which it gets thousands will get it to the front page quicker.
And something that gets to 5k might never be on the front page if it’s not fast enough, but something that gets 1.5k very quickly may.
Also, the vote count it shows isn’t real. 6k is sometimes really tens of thousands. They do a lot to curb vote manipulation and blah blah.
Yeah, should really post a news thing on the Kickstarter bi-weekly at the least.
You guys should pretty much be devoting nearly this entire time to promoting the Kickstarter and nothing else, outside of doing things with the game that you can show as progress before the Kickstarter end date is here. That’s what all the successful ones do.
It may seem like a waste of time when you could be working on the game, but, well, that’s just how it is. Making a game is a lot to do with the marketing.
