You mean behind…yeah sure… i meant the sides mostly + above and bellow.
If it is Helion it looks like it is mostly glass
So visibility should be good
It looks like things are accelerating !! Flavien at a shooting and tomorow battlescape on Kickstarter !!
My laptop isn’t too terribly expensive or high-end. It’s in fact not a gaming laptop, it is equipped with a mid-range video card, an Nvidia 860M. Here’s a comparison with a GTX 970M:

It is significantly slower than my desktop’s GPU, which itself is a couple years old ( Radeon 7970 ). Here’s the comparison between them:

The prototype runs pretty well ( 40-60 fps ) on my laptop provided you reduce the details level and the resolution to 720p. But don’t get me wrong: it is not indicative of the future performance ( better or worse ) than Battlescape when it’ll be released. To be honest I have absolutely no idea how it’ll run, there are too many factors to evaluate. We’ll increase the quality/details level for the final game, and the scenes will be more complex, so it’d definitely run worse. At the same time, we haven’t done that many serious performance optimizations yet, so that might just compensate for the additional details/complexity we’ll add to the game. But yeah, it is a big unknown at the moment. All I can say is that we would definitely want the final game to be playable on mid-range systems.
Is all of that the space station? Ya, that’ll take time to munch.

For the record the Hellion isn’t a fighter and its cockpit reflects its utility as much as its faction style.
It will be interesting to see what qualifies as a mid-range system when Infinity:Battlescape is available. I fear my mid-range system from 2 years ago is going to need a GPU upgrade.
Have you ever exposed the code to a 4K system?
Just to point it out, the rate at which hardware becomes obsolete has slowed tremendously since what I like to refer to as the Pentium era. If it was a not very good mid-range system 2 years ago, you’ll probably need an upgrade. If it was the upper part of mid-end, it just might be able to keep up (or would, if Infinity was fully optimized and about to launch today… if it takes 2 years to go through kickstarter, alpha, beta, and fixing post-release child diseases effecting performance, then yeah, you’ll probably need an upgrade).
To be fair AMD just announced a major GPU upgrade and the expectation is that NVIDIA’s next generation, Pascal, that’s supposed to come out early next year will be a significant performance upgrade. The GPU industry was being held back by TSMC staying at 28nm however that should be changing next year.
The bigger problem is that games are being primarily built for console these days and the current generation was using old hardware the moment they hit the market. I suspect this more than anything else has historically and will continue to keep AAA games from really leveraging advances in hardware for large chunks of time.
My videocard died yesterday, and I’m stuck on intel integrated. Will I get more than 15fps in battlescape?
